What is Authorised Economic Operator (AEO)?
Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) is a programme launched by World Customs Organization (WCO) to secure and facilitate Global trade under SAFE framework. The program aims to enhance international supply chain security and facilitate movement of legitimate goods. The Government of India is implementing this programme in order to enhance “Ease of Doing Business” of the country across various sectors.
AEO Programme offers a three tier certification for importers and exporters (i.e. AEO-T1, AEO-T2, and AEO-T3) whereas it offers a single tier certification (i.e. AEO-LO) for economic operators other than importers and exporters.
