New Procedure for Exporting Certified Organic Products Under NPOP – 2025 Guidelines

The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has issued a new procedure for exporting certified organic products, effective from the date of this notification. This replaces the previous guidelines outlined in Public Notices No. 73 (RE-2013) and No. 10/2015-2020.
1. Certification Standards- Organic products for export must meet the standards set under the National Programme for Organic Production (NPOP). These standards cover the entire process—from production and processing to packaging and labelling. More information is available on the APEDA website.
2.Transaction Certificate- To be exported as organic, products must be accompanied by a Transaction Certificate (TC) issued by a Certification Body accredited by the National Accreditation Body (NAB) for Organic Products.
3.Implementation Timeline- The new guidelines will come into effect 180 days from the issuance of this notification.
For exporters, it's crucial to follow these updated guidelines to ensure smooth and compliant export of organic products. Stay informed and make the necessary adjustments for successful exportation.
