Procedure for export of sesame seeds to the United States of America (USA)

The Indian government has announced updated export policy conditions for sesame seeds, specifically for exports to the United States. These changes are effective from November 16, 2024.
- Additional policy conditions have been introduced under Chapter 12 of Schedule-II of the ITC(HS) 2022 for sesame seed exports to the USA are inserted as under:

A detailed procedure for controlling pesticide residues in sesame seeds has been outlined in the Department of Commerce Public Notice dated July 10, 2024. This document provides the necessary steps for compliance. Exporters must ensure their sesame seeds meet these new requirements to continue shipping to the USA after November 16, 2024.
