DGFT Amends Import Policy for Chapter 83 under ITC (HS)

The Central Government has issued an amendment under the powers conferred by Section 3 and Section 5 of the Foreign Trade (Development & Regulation) Act, 1992. This change is made in alignment with Paragraphs 1.02 and 2.01 of the Foreign Trade Policy (FTP) 2023.

The amendment specifically relates to the import policy conditions of items under select HS codes in Chapter 83 of the ITC (HS), 2022, Schedule I (Import Policy). These changes are aimed at streamlining trade regulations and aligning them with current economic objectives.

Importers and stakeholders dealing with products under Chapter 83 are advised to review the revised conditions to ensure compliance.
