The DGFT amends the import policy of Cigarette Lighters covered under HSN Code 9613 in Chap. 96 of Schedule-I of ITC(HS) 2022.
The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) made an amendment in the Import Policy of Cigarette Lighters which are covered under CTH 9613 of Chapter 96 in the Schedule-I (Import Policy) of the ITC(HS) 2022.
The amendment states that Pocket Lighters which are Gas fuelled and non-refillable under HS Code 96131000 and Pocket Lighters which are Gas fuelled and refillable under HS Code 96132000 whose existing Import policy was under “free” category has been revised and put under the “prohibited” category.
However, if the CIF value of the above-mentioned lighters is above ₹ 20/- or above per lighter, then import shall be allowed.
