India's Leading DGFT Consultants

DGFT Announces Releif for Average Export Obligation for EPCg Scheme

DGFT with its Policy Circular No 44/2015-20 Dated: 17th November 2022 announced relief in Average Export Obligation for EPCG Scheme to exporters of those sectors where total exports in that sector/product group
has declined by more than 5% as compared to the previous year. As per the policy circular, the Average Export Obligation will be reduced proportionate to reduction in the exports of that particular sector/product group during the relevant year against the preceding year.

This implies that a sector/product group that has witnessed reduction in exports in 2021-22 as compared to the preceding year 2020-21 is eligible for claiming benefit of this relief.

The list of sector/product groups where exports have declined compared to the preceding year is annexed as below:
