The Customs Authority has made important changes to the Standard Input Output Norm (SION) E-125 for Shea Stearine exports, focusing on Shea Nut imports. These updates are valid until March 31, 2027, and address variations in oil content. For every 1% increase in oil content beyond 46%, the permitted import quantity decreases by 150 kgs. For every 1% decrease in oil content below 44%, the permitted import quantity increases by 150 kgs. Customs will test oil content of every shipment and mark it on bill of entry. Import authorizations based on the average oil content will be adjusted by regional authority. Even before testing results are available, Shipments will be cleared based on customs examination. These revisions offer more flexibility in trade, aligning import quantities with oil content. This change helps manage Shea Nut imports more efficiently while maintaining product quality standards.
These amendments will be in effect until March 31, 2027, but will be reassessed to reflect market changes in the industry.
