To simplify the export process and reduce turnaround times for obtaining export authorizations, the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has introduced a new Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for the export of restricted seeds and planting materials. Here's what you need to know:
For Export of Seeds and Planting Materials:
Provide detailed information on the seed or planting material you wish to export, along with its source.
List all raw materials used in the production of the seed.
Affidavit Requirements:
An affidavit confirming that no Indian germplasm has been used in developing the seed (e.g., Onion Seed, Rice in Husk).
A conditional affidavit confirming that the material complies with the law.
For Seed Quality Export:
From the state government a licence needed for seed dealing.
Declaration that the seed is chemically treated and not for human consumption.
Export packets must be labelled as chemically treated and not for food or feed use.
For Non-Sowing Purposes:
Applicants must submit an affidavit confirming that the material is not intended for planting and is solely for consumption (e.g., Rice Paddy, Non-Basmati Rice).
Important Reminder: This process aims to enhance trade and ensure compliance with regulations, facilitating smooth export operations for manufacturers and exporters.
