DGFT allows a Condonation in Submission of Installation Certificate under EPCG Scheme
Installation Certificate is a mandatory document, that is required to claim the benefits of the EPCG Scheme (Export Promotion Capital Goods), it serves as a proof that the imported machinery under EPCG Scheme is installed at the location mentioned on the EPCG License. This Certificate has to be submitted to the concerned authorities within 6 months of the date of import.
DGFT has received many requests from EPCG License Holders to issue a relaxation in the timeline for submission of the installation certificate to the respective Regional Authorities.
After taking the issue in consideration, the DGFT issued a relaxation in the timeline for submission of Installation Certificate. The EPCG License holders who have obtained EPCG License under the Foreign Trade Policy of 2009-14 and 2015-2020 (which was extended till 31.03.2023) can submit installation certificates by 31.12.2023 with a payment of late fees of INR 10,000/- per license. The eligibility criteria for the same is as below:
- The EPCG License should be issued under the Foreign Trade Policy 2009-14 and 2015-20.
- The installation certificate was obtained in time but not submitted with concerned authorities
- The EPCG License holders have valid reasons behind not submitting the installation certificate
- The EPCG license of the holder is not under investigation by DGFT/Customs or any other investigating agency.
