DGFT amends the Export Policy of Food Supplements containing Botanicals
DGFT announces an amendment in the Export Policy of Food Supplement containing Botanicals.
The ITC HS Codes 1302 and 2106 have been amended containing (Vegetable Saps and extracts; Pectic substances, Pectinates and Pectates; Agar-agar and other Mucilages and other thickeners, whether or not modified, derived from vegetable products) and (Food Preparations not elsewhere specified or included) respectively. The policy is amended from “FREE” to “EXPORT through certificate from EIC & EIAs.” The policy condition clearly specifies that: “The export of Food Supplements containing botanicals to European Union (EU) and United Kingdom (UK) which are originated in or consigned from India and are intended for human or animal consumption, then these types of supplements need an issuance of the official certificate issued by Export Inspection Council (EIC) or Export Inspection Agencies (EIAs). The official certificate is to be issued based on the satisfactory analytical test report from the EIC or EIC approved laboratories as per the requirement laid down by European Union.”
