DGFT Announced Amendments in the SCOMET List - all you need to know
The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) vide its Notification No. 46/2015-2020 Dated: 30th November 2022 announced amendments in its SCOMET list.
SCOMET is an acronym for Special Chemicals, Organisms, Materials, Equipment, and Technologies. SCOMET Items are items in the SCOMET List that are dual-use items, which can be used for both civilian and military applications. The Foreign Trade Policy 2015-2020 of India regulates the export of items on the SCOMET List. An exporter must obtain a SCOMET license from the DGFT, Ministry of Commerce, to export SCOMET items.
On 30th November 2022, DGFT updated its SCOMET List and the amended SCOMET list is uploaded on the DGFT website. You can access this by visiting the DGFT Website > Regulatory Updates > Import, Export and SCOMET Policy.
